Ashtech (born December 15, 1973, Italy) is a producer, bass player and solo artist. His style combines original dub and urban electronica and it is uniquely characterised by the flavor of his heavy dubby bassline which features strongly in all of his productions.

He moves the first steps in music very early as a dj, approaching electronica and developing a passion for experimental music. Ashtech soon becomes an established figure in the Italian mainstream music scenario collaborating with many artists both as a producer and as a composer on a total of 14 albums, 3 of which with Almamegretta (4/4, IMAGINARIA, Venite Venite) under BMG Label . His five year long collaboration with Almamegretta sees him touring extensively in Italy and Europe playing to crowds of up to 700,000 people and sharing the stage with international acts such as Tricky, The Wailers, Erykah Badu, Mory Kante, Compay Segundo, Groove Armada, Asian Dub Foundation.[1]

During his last year in Italy Ashtech collaborated with Raiz (Almamegretta’s historical voice) first album “WOP” for Universal Records and produces the single track" Wop". During the Wop tour, Ashtech decided to move to London in order to access to a more innovative music industry.

In this vibrant and challenging music environment, he finds a fertile ground to grow his ideas. After moving to London Ashtech has released “With me” for the compilation The Dream Temple (Millennim Records), ‘Dub Hypnosis’ for the album ‘Continvvm’ Em:t Records, and ‘Earth Orbit’ for the Dub Compilation ‘Sub Signals’ Interchill Records and he has released his debut solo album 'Walkin Target' produced by dub maestro Gaudi (musician) under label Interchill Records, this roots laiden album includes also four tracks featuring the inimitable Reggae vocal stylings by Cheshire Cat from the legendary production outfit Leftfield.[2]

His album released on the summer 2007 has been considered a Masterpiece of dub by the worldwide music press. After remixing Raiz’s album for Universal Records, he produced the new Dub project "Meditronica" written in collaboration with Polcari, Dub Gabriel, Raiz and Eraldo Bernocchi.[3]

Meditronica has been released worldwide in March 2009 on London-based label RareNoise.[4]
