Biography

The first hints at what would become Ask can be traced down to the early '80s, as Martin Archer (synthesizers, electronics, sopranino saxophone, amplified objects) and John Jasnoch (guitars, electronics) were both members of the British electric jazz band Bass Tone Trap. At some point, Ask comprised up to six members, but since 1995 it has remained a duo (Archer and Jasnoch). The music flirts with free jazz and experimental electronics, allowing a lot of room for improvisation. Ask's first CD, Disconnected Bliss, was released in 1998 on Archer's Discus label. ~ François Couture, Rovi
