[ah-soh-PAH-oh] Spanish for "soupy," asopao is the Puerto Rican version of paella. This soupy stew is flavored with the Spanish staple sofrito and typically includes chicken, meat or seafood (or a combination of the three), rice and various vegetables, such as onions, bell peppers and tomatoes.
