Asteroideae is a subfamily of the plant family Asteraceae. It contains about 70% of the species of the family.[2]

It is made of several tribes including Astereae, Calenduleae, Eupatorieae, Gnaphalieae, Heliantheae, Senecioneae and Tageteae.

Classification

Since 2004, the subfamily has been divided into three supertribes:[2]

  • Senecionodae, containing only the tribe Senecioneae (including Doronicum,[3] which is sometimes placed in a tribe Doroniceae)
  • Asterodae
  • Helianthodae
