Retransmission disputes

The Cattaraugus County division of Atlantic Broadband has seen several television disputes with the stations in the Buffalo, New York market. In December 2007, WIVB-TV claimed that Atlantic Broadband is distributing WIVB's signal without "the authority to do so;"[1] Atlantic Broadband announced it would cease carrying WIVB in favor of WSEE-TV in January 2009 with no effort to reach a deal; however, a deal was reached in January 2009, keeping both WIVB and WSEE on the air there.[2][3] WIVB's sister station, WNLO, was in fact pulled from the lineups, and was not included in the carriage agreement.

WGRZ had a contract dispute with Atlantic Broadband as well in December 2006, although a deal was eventually reached.[4]
