Atlantic Charter Signing
70th Anniversary
Aug 14, 1941. The eight-point agreement was signed by US president Franklin D. Roosevelt and British prime minister Winston S. Churchill. The charter grew out of a three-day conference aboard ship in the Atlantic Ocean, off the Newfoundland coast, and stated policies and hopes for the future agreed to by the two nations.
