Atrophic lichen planus is a rare variant of lichen planus, and characterized by the presence of a few well-demarcated, white-bluish papules or plaques with central superficial atrophy.[1]:466

Orally: The typical appearances of the atrophic (erosive) form of lichen planus are the keratotic white areas associated with erythema and shallow ulcerations. The lesions are usually less extensive and more prominent on the posterior buccal mucosa(Edward W. Odell).
