Attie O'Brien
O'Brien, Attie (Frances Marcella) (1840-1883), novelist. Born into a Catholic gentry family in Co. Clare, she published four novels: The Monk's Prophecy (1882) and The Caradassan Family (1886) are romantic comedies; Won by Worth (1891) and Through the Dark Night (1897), however, have a markedly nationalist dimension.
