attitude scale

A method of measuring attitudes based on the assumption that holding an attitude leads to consistent responses to particular persons, objects, or ideas. The scale presents statements about the topic of interest (for example, ‘drugs should be banned in sport’) and the respondent states his or her degree of agreement or disagreement with the statement.
