History
Atypon was founded in 1996 by CEO Georgios Papadopoulos who was involved in pioneering developments at several high-tech companies in Silicon Valley. Mr. Papadopoulos’ early works included developing an access control system for Rizzoli Publishing and data fabrication software for the Journal of Biological Chemistry, an early digital scholarly journal.
Atypon has grown both organically, as well as through the acquisitions of Extenza e-Publishing Services[2][3] in 2005 and eMeta in 2008. The acquisition of eMeta[4] expanded Atypon’s product portfolio to include RightSuite, an enterprise access and commerce platform for the publishing and media industry.

Literatum is a hosted e-publishing platform which is used to manage, deliver and monetize online content. Literatum is available in two editions, Premium and Custom, providing the user different levels of customization and flexibility.[5]
RightSuite
RightSuite is an enterprise access and commerce platform that provides authentication, authorization, administration, registration and licensing functionality for digital goods and services. RightSuite is available as server applications and through a SaaS (software-as-a-service) model.[6]
