On Au Naturel, Christopher Green and Paul Eggleston lay out live improvisations with hip analog synths, ostensibly in the vein of seventies Germans like Cluster and Tangerine Dream (before the New-Age-y cheese). A decent amount of movement and near-composition makes the record a bit more interesting than a lot of similar projects, but the duo seems to bank too much on the sheer appeal of their instruments -- there's nothing here to make Au Naturel seem any more valuable than the sixties and seventies all-synth work they're recapturing. ~ Nitsuh Abebe, Rovi
