Auburn Council is the governing body of a local government area in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, about 15 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district. The area's population includes many Chinese (about 9.3% of the total) and Muslims (about 24.7%), mainly from Turkey and Lebanon.[2]; the Gallipoli Mosque in the suburb of Auburn is modelled upon the great mosques of Istanbul.
Homebush Bay was the location of the main venues of the 2000 Summer Olympics.
