A kind of mixtape/business card from Akron-based Audio Eagle Records of 21 indie and post-punk bands hailing from all parts of Ohio, this fun set shows that rock is still alive and well in the Midwest. There's a lot to like here, including former Guided by Voices guitarist Doug Gillard's Nuggets-inflected "For What I've Done," the fascinating and goofy "Earthworms in the Sun" by Coffinberry, the north Mississippi-sounding "Nobody But You" by the Black Keys (Black Keys member Patrick Carney is actually the founder of Audio Eagle), and the lovely "Stolen Moments" by Six Parts Seven. There's hardly a slack moment, and Ohio should be proud of these wonderful bands. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi
