Audra Strickland (born 1974) is a Republican who has been a member of the 37th district of the California State Assembly since December 2004. She succeeded her husband, Tony Strickland, who was term-limited. Prior to serving in the Assembly, she was a junior high school teacher for a year at Temple Christian School in Ventura, California. She supports term limits.
Audra Strickland has filed to start raising money to run for Secretary of State in 2010.
Education
While earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, Strickland served as president of the Ronald Reagan Republican Club at the University of California, Irvine. She was a California State Assembly Fellow for Assemblyman Bill Campbell and also worked for former Assembly Speaker Curt Pringle and Assemblyman Chuck Poochigian.
Personal
Assemblywoman Strickland resides in Moorpark with her husband, State Senator Tony Strickland. The Stricklands have a daughter, Ruby Ruth, and a son, Anthony Paul.
