Happy birthday to Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron, who turns 32 today. Though she started out as a model, Theron turned Hollywood on its ear when she gained 30 pounds (13.5 kg) and played plain, lumpish prostitute-turned-serial killer Aileen Wuornos, in Monster. She credits her growing up on a farm in South Africa with her deep involvement in the animal rights movement. A spokesperson for PETA, Theron has appeared on a billboard with her pet dog, Tucker, with the quote, "If you wouldn't wear your dog, please don't wear any fur."
