August von Hayek (December 14, 1871 - June 11, 1928) was an Austrian botanist who was a native of Vienna. He was born as a son of Gustav von Hayek, and August was the father of economist Friedrich August von Hayek (1899-1992).
From 1926 Hayek was a professor at the University of Vienna. He is remembered for phytogeographical studies of Styria and the Balkans. Among his better known publications are the following:
