Augustin Von Hamersteten

Augustin Von Hamersteten, a 15th-c. knight who was at first in the service of the Emperor and then, after 1490, in that of the Elector of Saxony at Torgau. He wrote a prose romance with the title Die Hystori vom Hirs mit den guldin ghurn (Hirsch mit dem goldenen Gehörn) und der Fürstin vom pronnen. It is a story of a knight, whom a princess persuades to go to the Holy Land. In due course he returns and is received into her favour.
