Review
Culburnie's Auld Lang Syne compilation features traditional Scottish artists performing traditional Scottish tunes and selections by poet Robert Burns, as well as some more recent compositions (many by Alasdair Fraser). Some songs were featured on the TV special The Kennedy Center Honors, while others have appeared on National Public Radio's Morning Edition program. The performances are generally top-notch, by the likes of Alasdair Fraser, Paul Machlis, Tony McManus, Bachue, the Cast, Chantan, Skyedance, and more. Overall, it's an excellent sampler of Scottish folk music. ~ Steve Huey, All Music GuideTracks
