Review

Fuel 2000's two-disc set Authentic Blues collects 46 tracks from the vaults of U.S.A. and Modern Records, featuring masters of the genre including: John Lee Hooker, Junior Wells, Koko Taylor, Lightnin' Hopkins, and B.B. King. Unlike similar compilations, less than half the program deals with tunes that would be considered "classic," the rest dig a bit deeper into the catalog, as opposed to hearing the same songs that have been recycled over and over again. This is an affordable, entertaining, and well-chosen set. ~ Al Campbell, Rovi
