Neighboring or related rights are those which apply concurrently but not directly with or to the author.
As an example when a song is recorded there are 4 sets of rights extant...
the authors' rights of the composer of the music;
the authors' rights of the lyricist;
the performers' rights of the singer and the musicians;
the producers' rights of the person or corporation which made the recording.
