Autoguider may frequently sound like it's trying a bit too hard, but what it accomplishes is decently appealing; compositionally, the album has a lot in common with late-'80s R.E.M., but in terms of sound, its pop reflects a heavy influence from the washed-out rock following on the heels of Britain's shoegazing trend. There's nothing brilliant in this combination, of course, but Saturnine 60 does deliver on its fair share of hooks, and Autoguider doesn't wind up sounding so terrible at all. ~ Nitsuh Abebe, Rovi
