autoimmune disease

autoallergic disease, autoimmunization syndrome, chronic hypersensitivity
Any one of the diseases that are believed to be caused in part by reactions of hypersensitivity of the host tissue (antigens). Includes various hemolytic anemias, idiopathic thrombocytopenias, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, glomerulonephritis, scleroderma, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and Sjögren’s syndrome.
