Avio S.p.A. is an Italian aerospace engine manufacturer. Formerly owned by FIAT S.p.A. and named FiatAvio, it is now owned by Cinven (85%), Finmeccanica (15%). Avio chiefly serves as a subcontractor to first-tier jet engine manufacturers, or in a partnership role in consortia.

At the end of 2006, Finmeccanica succeeded in selling its 30% share of the company to Cinven (private equity investment firm) for a total of €432,000,000, with reports that it then reacquired 15% of the company for €130,000,000[1].
