Avishai Margalit
Avishai Margalit is an Israeli author and scholar.
Born in Israel in 1939 he was raised and educated in Jerusalem. He received a Ph.D., summa cum laude, in 1970 from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Margalit traveled abroad teaching and lecturing, acting as a British Council Scholar at Oxford University and a visiting scholar at Harvard University. He occasionally contributes to the New York Review of Books.
He is married to Edna Ullman-Margalit, a professor of philosophy at the Hebrew University. Both Margalit and his wife are members of the Center for the Study of Rationality in Jerusalem.
