Axfood AB (OMX: AXFO) is a Swedish company. Formed in May 2000 through a merger between the Swedish grocery store chains Hemköp, D&D Dagligvaror, Spar Sverige, Spar Inn Snabbgross, it is one of the largest food retailers in Scandinavia listed on the stock market. The largest shareholder is Axel Johnson AB, with 45 percent of the shares. Nicholas Pettersson will become the new president of Axfood Närlivs from the first of August 2009.[1]
