An axon reflex[1] is a response brought on by peripheral nerve stimulation. Examples include Vasodilation originally described by Lewis as the "Hunter's Response" or autonomic reaction to loss of body heat in the extremities (also known as "Lewis wave" and "Lewis reaction").[2].
