B band

A broad Fraunhofer line in the Sun's spectrum at around 687 nm, due to absorption by molecular oxygen in the Earth's atmosphere. The B band is actually a group of close, regularly spaced lines spanning about 2 nm, unresolved at low resolution.

The B band is the range of radio frequencies from 250 MHz to 500 MHz in the electromagnetic spectrum. This is equal to wave lengths between 1.2 m and 0.6 m. The B band is in the VHF/UHF range of the radio spectrum.

The B band is identical to the P band of the older IEEE classification system.
