Plot
Ambassador Draal (John Schuck) is invited back to B5, this time to help Sheridan and the crew make further contact with the First Ones. It is hoped that this ancient and venerable race will assist the crew in their confrontations with the Shadows. Meanwhile, Sheridan must withhold a potentially volatile secret from his new political officer, Night Watch representative Julie Musante (Shari Shattuck). Ivanova and Marcus go in search of the First Ones with Draal's guidance. A new political officer, Julie Musante, is assigned to Babylon 5. Sheridan has to deal with her inquiries while keeping the 'Conspiracy of Light' a secret. Her methods of getting closer to Sheridan include a seduction attempt.
G'Kar confronts Delenn about the War Council and the Rangers.
Arc significance
Musante arrives at Babylon 5 to serve as the political officer. She seeks to extend and expand the scope of the Nightwatch force, while attempting to impose political oversight over the staff.
Draal (John Schuck), the Minbari custodian of The Great Machine on Epsilon 3, makes a reappearance to help Ivanova locate the First Ones.
Contact is made with the First Ones, attempting to rally them in the war against the Shadows. This particular ship appears in Season One in Mind War.
In response to Ivanova finding the evidence that President Santiago's assassination was arranged by Clark, Draal states that "A normal human mind should not have been able to do that".
