back injuries

Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Email

Physical damage to structures in the back. As a result of our bipedal gait, we are very prone to injuries that cause backache. Mechanical stresses imposed on the back during exercise, especially high impact activities, can cause muscle tenderness and ligament strains, fractures of the spine, prolapsed discs, sciatica, and spondylosis. Acute injuries involving the spinal column and spinal cord are very serious. Any injury that causes the loss of sensation, numbness, or weakness in the lower extremities requires immediate emergency medical attention.
