Album Review: Back to Back

Review

Frankie Avalon and Fabian were both managed by Bob Marcucci and both recorded for Chancellor Records, and, the result is that there are several collections pairing Avalon's hits with Fabian's. This one contains Avalon's five biggest hits -- "Venus," "Why," "Just Ask Your Heart," "Dede Dinah," and "Bobby Sox To Stockings" -- with five of Fabian's. The Fabian side contains his first hit, "I'm A Man," which was not quite as big a hit as "Come On And Get Me," but otherwise the selections -- "Tiger," "Hound Dog Man," "Turn Me Loose," and "This Friendly World," are the best of Fabian as well. ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide
