Toronto's Intrepid Records follows up last year's excellent Kick At The Darkness -- Songs of Bruce Cockburn with this second in a series of tribute discs to great Canadian composers. Number two is as successful as the first. The sheer diversity of these 17 Mitchell compositions, as interpreted of a mix of up-and-coming and veteran Canadian performers, serves as the ultimate accolade. The project's one weakness is its excessive Toronto-centricity; apart from Bergman, the West Coast is represented by Spirit of The West (Coyote), while The East gets a nod with Halifax grunge-rockers Sloan (A Case of You). ~ Roch Parisien, Rovi
