This is the
name for the person who supplies the bankroll for another poker player.
A backer may only support a player by providing a tournament buy in, or
the backer may constantly supply the player with chips for cash games.
SoundPoker Says: Virtually anyone could be considered a backer. If a friend gave
you the money to play poker, then they would be considered your
backer.
For example, "John acts as my backer, and in return he receives 50% of my tournament winnings."
