Backseat Goodbye is the stage and recording name of pop-folk singer-songwriter Chad Sugg (born July 14, 1986)[1]. Chad started the solo-project his freshman year of college at Middle Tennessee State University in August 2004 [2]. Born in Clarksville, Sugg currently resides in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.[3]
His music has been described as "brilliant upbeat acoustic folk you can sing along, and listen to all day."[4] and ""Feel good pop music that's deeper than what you're used to...[5] As of 2009 Sugg has self-released 4 EPs, all of which he recorded and produced at his home studio himself.[6] His first full length album, Dressed Up Like Dreams, was released through a distribution deal with The Militia Group.[7] He has also self-released a limited pressing of a holiday EP and a holiday album.
In November 2006, the album Nightmares Are For Dreamers reached #32 on the iTunes Top 100 Folk Albums Chart. In April 2007, the album Good Morning, Sunshine reached #38 on the iTunes Top 100 Folk Albums Chart. The single "Technicolor Eyes" from Nightmares Are For Dreamers also charted in the top 50 of the iTunes Top 100 Folk Songs Chart.[8]
