Senior contact

Like most sports in Europe, but unlike most American football leagues, the BAFA senior league uses the system of promotion and relegation, with the league divided into three divisions, "Premiership," "Division 1" and "Division 2".[1]

Premier

The BAFA's Premier Division for the 2012 season comprises twelve teams, split into the North and South conferences. Within each conference, each team plays each other once at home and once away, with the top three teams from each qualifying for the post-season play-offs.

Division 1

Division 1 comprises 15 teams split into north and south conferences. Each team plays a mixed schedule from within their conference, with the top three teams in each conference qualifying for the play-offs.

Division 2

Division 2 comprises the remaining teams split into four regional conferences. This includes the DC Presidents and Crewe Railroaders who were accepted as new members for the 2012 season. The top two teams in each conference qualify for the play-offs.
