Refers to making a small raise with the intention of coaxing (baiting) another player into re-raising you. A player would likely do this when they have a monster hand and want to increase the amount of money in a pot.
SoundPoker Says: In this situation, the baiting player would act in one of two ways. The
baiting player could simply call their opponents raise, suggesting that
they hold a mediocre hand. The call is performed in hopes of increasing
the pot size during the next betting round. As well, the baiting player
may attempt to trap their opponent with a large re-raise of their own,
forcing their opponent to commit more chips into the pot or fold.
