Baladas en español is a Spanish language album by Roxette, released on December 2, 1996. The album was criticised for being badly translated from English, leading to nonsense lyrics. It has been suggested that the translator, Luis Gómez Escolar, did not take the project seriously[citation needed].
"Un día sin ti" , "No sé si es amor" and "Soy una mujer" were released as singles, though almost every song was frequently played on Latin American and Spanish radio. The album was certified platinum in Spain, Argentina, Chile and gold in several Latin American countries. The compilation has sold more than a million of copies so far.
