Balak

Bible Guide: Balak

Son of Zippor, king of Moab (Num 22:2). He became concerned with the Israelites, who, having defeated the Amorites, advanced across the plains of Moab (Num 21:24-25; 22:1). Balak turned to Balaam (Num 22:5) asking him to curse the advancing armies (Num 22:6). When Balaam refused (Num 22:13) Balak insisted (Num 22:15) but to no avail.
