'Ballade vom verschütteten Leben'
‘Ballade vom verschütteten Leben’, a symbolical religious poem by R. Hagelstange, published in 1952. It tells of six German soldiers buried in an underground foodstore from 1945 to 1951. Two survive. The poem is concerned with spiritual values. The underlying story was published in the press as true, but is apocryphal.
