French ballet company based in Marseilles. It was founded in 1972 by the choreographer Roland Petit, who served as artistic director for 25 years and whose ballets dominated the repertoire. From 1998 to 2004 Marie-Claude Pietragalla, an étoile of the Paris Opera Ballet, was artistic director of the company and its associated school. The company's current repertoire includes works by Kylián, Claude Brumachon, and Pietragalla.
