Balochistan

A province meaning the 'Land of the Balochi People'. They only arrived in the area during the 14th century, having probably come from Persia. They are sometimes referred to as the Baluch. They may have taken their name from the Urdu baluĉ 'peak', since they lived in the mountains; the word can also mean 'wanderer' or 'nomad'.
