Bringing vino by the boatload to the US has helped make Banfi Vintners the largest wine importer in the states. The vintner, a unit of Banfi Products Corporation, distributes well-known labels, including Riunite (Italy) and Concha y Toro (Chile), along with Almaviva and Walnut Crest (Chile), Stonehaven (Australia), and TriVento (Argentina), to wholesaler distributors throughout the US. The company makes wine at its 7,100-acre estate, Castello Banfi, in Italy's Tuscany. It also makes sparkling wine in Italy's Piedmont region at its Vini Regali and Principessa Gavia estates. Founded in 1919 by John Mariani Sr., Banfi is run by his sons, John and Harry.
