Game Description
The first-person-perspective in Bank Panic has you playing a lawman protecting a town bank with twelve doors. You can see three doors at a time, while "door radar," located at the top of the screen, let's you know when someone is at a door not in your immediate view by moving the joystick left or right to shift your view of the doors. With the bank set up in a circular fashion, you can view doors one and twelve at the same time. When you stop at a door, it opens, revealing a customer wanting to deposit money, or a robber who wants to kill you. Three firing buttons correspond to one of the three doors in your line of sight. Hit the robber before he draws his gun to score points. Shoot him right away to score only a few points with the game indicating an unfair hit. Wait until he reaches for his gun before you fire and you will score considerably more points, depending on how fast you are. The average draw time is factored into your bonus at the end of the round. There are many variations appearing at the door. Sometimes a customer throws his hands up and a robber steps out from behind him, or a bonus character appears, offering you the chance to shoot hats off his head. Also from time to time, a bomb will be planted on one of the doors. Shoot that door (as indicated with a pitchfork) before it explodes. A timer with a ghost above it indicates the time left until the explosion. A man is lost each time you are shot by a bandit, allow a bomb to explode, when you shoot a bank customer or when you allow the timer to run down to zero. The round ends when at least one bag of cash has been deposited at each of the twelve doors.
