Index of money market rates on consumer deposit accounts paid at 100 banks around the country, compiled weekly and reported in daily newspapers. The Bank Rate Monitor Index is compiled weekly by Bank Rate Monitor Inc., Pompano Beach, Florida, and lists the average rate paid on a variety of consumer savings deposits and time deposit accounts.
