Banks Island(s)

• Location: Northwest Territories/Canada, Vanuatu

Both are named after the eminent naturalist and explorer, Sir Joseph Banks (1743–1820), president of the Royal Society (1778–1820), who sailed with Captain Cook^† on his first voyage round the world in 1768–71.
