Banu Khalid (Arabic: بنو خالد) the word "Banu" in Arabic means the sons of, or of the breed of, and "Khalid" is a name of one of the most powerful Islamic
History warriors, Khalid ibn al-Walid who is said to be the great granfather of the
Banu Khalid, there are other stories that say they are not related to him and the naming was based on a very different matter.
They are what is called now Arabized Arabs: Who originated from the progeny of Ishmael. They
were also called Adnanian Arabs who didn't originate from the Arabian Peninsula.
History of Banu Khalid:
The Banu Khalid were the rulers of the eastern province of Saudi Arabia, they also controlled Kuwait for about a century. Areas like Al-Hasa, Bahrain and Najed were under their ruling for more than three hundred years. Until the arrival of the Al-Saud family. And only an internal civil war tore the tribe apart. Ibn Arair, the last Emir of Banu Khalid, died soon after a civil war started between his sons and their uncle and his sons in the early 1800.
Banu Khalid were also called "protectors of the Habara eggs." The eggs came from pigeons that were widely hunted.
Banu Khalid have divided into clans and families, and they are known today to be one of the most respectful Arabian tribes, and they include a lot of families such as Al-Arifi, Al-Mouamar, Al-Haider in Saudi Arabia, and many others. The Banu Khalid also enjoy a strong presence in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the Northern Badia region of Hawsha notable among them is the Al-Kadi family.
