Baraba Steppe

Baraba Steppe (bərəbä') , agricultural district, SW Siberian Russia, between the Ob and the Irtysh rivers. Barabinsk, on the Trans-Siberian RR, is the region's chief town. It was founded in the 19th cent.

The Baraba steppe (also known as Barabinsk steppe, Russian: Барабинская низменность) is a wooded, flat plain situated in western Siberia which is an important Russian agricultural district. The steppe has an area of 117,000 km² and stretches between the Irtysh and the Ob Rivers. Barabinsk is the largest city on the steppe.
