Municipalities and municipal districts
The province as of June 20 2006 is divided into the following municipalities (municipios) and municipal districts (distrito municipal - D.M.) within them:[1]

Urban population are those living in the seats (cabeceras literally heads) of municipalities or of municipal districts. Rural population are those living in the districts (Secciones literally sections) and neighborhoods (Parajes literally places) outside of them.[2]

Tierra Blanca is located near the city of Cabral, west of Santo Domingo in the Southwestern province of Barahona. In 2008 Builders Beyond Boarders ("B3" provides high school students the opportunity to engage in humanitarian service, strengthen their awareness of diverse cultures, and develop a lifelong commitment to helping others by participating in construction projects to benefit impoverished communities throughout the world.) will build a multipurpose facility in the center of town to serve as a safe haven during tropical storms and hurricanes, a small preschool, an “office” for the community’s micro credit/savings and loan project, a central meeting area for the local committees (including a very involved youth organization), as well as bathrooms and a small kitchen.
