Plot

Most American kids will encounter or play with a Barbie doll at some point in their young lives. If they're girls, they'll probably receive one or more Barbie dolls for gifts. This film examines why this doll continues to influence how young girls think about their bodies, and why so many adults spend excessive amounts of time and money collecting these dolls. Viewers will meet the woman who named the Ken and Barbie dolls after her own children and women who regularly attend Barbie conventions. ~ Elizabeth Smith, Rovi
