Barcel is a maker of tortilla, potato chips and other confectionery and snack foods. It is a unit of Grupo Bimbo created in 1950. A different company with the same name, but operating in Chile, was acquired by PepsiCo in 1998.
Some of Barcel's more popular snacks are:
- Chips, a traditional chip, made in a homemade style. Its flavors include "Adobadas", "Jalapeño", "A La Diabla", "Toreadas Habanero" and the classic "Sal De Mar".
- Takis, a taco-shaped snack made in the "Original", "Fajita", "Salsa Brava", "Fuego" and "Guacamole" flavors.
- Runners, a spicy, car-shaped snack.
- Hot Nuts, peanuts covered in a thick, spicy chili shell.
- Kiyakis, Japanese-styled peanuts.
- Duvalín, a creamy nougat delight, offered in small trays and normally in 2 to 4 flavors including the native Mexican flavors of vanilla, chocolate and cajeta, as well as hazelnut and strawberry.
