Barnard's Green is one of the main population areas of Great Malvern, Worcestershire, England, situated approximately a mile down the hill from the main town centre. At the centre of Barnard's Green is a confusing pear-shaped roundabout where (clockwise) the Barnards Green Road, B4211 / B4208 from the Malvern town centre, Pickersleigh Road (B4208), Upper Chase Road, Barnards Green Road (which forks to become Poolbrook Road (B4208) and Guarlford Road (B4211), Court Road, and Avenue Road all meet.
Barnards Green is a short walk away from the Great Malvern railway station, a listed Victorian building.
Although Barnard's Green officially encompasses several large housing developments around the main shopping area, most local residents refer to the 'Green' when meaning the shopping area around the Twelve Apostles Island, while the housing development areas are referred to by more local names. Almost every kind of commerce is represented in the immediate area of the island, including banks, bakeries, charity shops, real estate agents, computer shops, stationers, pharmacies, butchers, greengrocers, travel agents, an off-licence, flower shops, hardware stores, a national supermarket, a small industrial complex, a retirement home, a guest house, a post office, an undertaker, law offices, and a variety of snack bars and ethnic take-aways.
The larger of Malvern's two secondary schools, The Chase, administered by the Worcestershire Educational Services, draws 1,800 students aged 11 – 18 from the Malvern district and is located a few hundred yards away in Geraldine Road. Approximately half a mile from the traffic island, in Langland Avenue is the Malvern Town Football Club while in North End Lane are the extensive facilities of the Barnards Green Cricket Club.
